The Last Bird To Land In America follows the lives of six people whose paths intersect in unexpected ways when all commercial flights across the world abruptly stop.  At the center of the story is a woman living in the United States on the day the final plane touches down.  Her story unfolds alongside six others, revealing the ways their lives remain bound to one another, and their homeland.  

 

Back home, on an island shaped by movement, the loss of air travel alters daily life. Tourism collapses, remittances slow, and the future become more uncertain. For those on the island, leaving becomes impossible. For some abroad, returning becomes improbable. The novel traces what happens when people must find new ways to connect in a world where returning is no longer guaranteed.
